About Discoveries Counseling

Established in 1990, Discoveries Counseling has served individuals, couples, and families for more than three decades with compassionate, thoughtful, and personalized care.  Our therapists bring a wide range of experience and specialties, while sharing a commitment to helping clients find greater healing, clarity, connection, and freedom. We believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and supported as they work through emotional, relationship, and spiritual challenges.

Our Approach

At Discoveries Counseling, we understand that people are complex and that emotional struggles rarely exist in isolation.  Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, family concerns and spiritual questions often overlap.  Our therapists take time to understand the whole person and tailor counseling to each client's unique history, needs, strengths and goals.

Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based therapeutic practices.  Depending on the therapist and the needs of the client, treatment may include approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, parts work, somatic strategies, relationshp-focuesd therapy, grief work and other methods designed to support lasting healing and growth.

Faith & Counseling

For clients who desire it, Christian faith can be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process.  We recognize the importance of addressing not only emotional and relational wellbeing, but also the spiritual dimension of the person.

Our therapists respect each client's beliefs and individual journey.  Faith is never imposed, but for those who wish to include it, counseling can provide a place to explore how spiritual life, relationships, suffering, hope, forgiveness and meaning intersect with emotional healing.

What You Can Expect

When you come to Discoveries Counseling, you can expect to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.  We strive to create a warm environment where clients can speak openly, gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and develop practical tools for moving forward.

Our goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help each person experience greater freedom, healthier relationships, emotional resilience and a deeper sense of wholeness.
